There are many types of plant hormones, and they are present in various crops and plants. It is produced by plants themselves and has a significant regulatory and promoting effect on plant growth and development.
Generally, we refer to the hormones produced by plants themselves as plant natural hormones or plant endogenous hormones. During the growth and development of plants, various plant regulators participate in a series of processes such as cell division, root growth, flowering, fruiting, and leaf shedding.
Due to insufficient regulators produced by crops themselves, plant growth regulators can be artificially supplemented to regulate crop growth.
The growth regulators currently used in agricultural production are mostly synthetic ingredients. It has similar physiological and biological effects compared to hormones produced by plants themselves. At present, the commonly used plant growth regulators include brassinolates, gibberellins, cytokinins, ethylene, abscisic acid, ammonium nitrate (DA-6), sodium nitrophenolate, paclobutrazol, and so on.
Plant growth regulators are substances synthesized by humans after understanding the structure and mechanism of action of natural plant hormones, which have similar physiological and biological effects. They are used in agricultural production to effectively regulate the growth process of crops, achieve stable and increased yields, improve quality, and enhance crop stress resistance.
The commonly used plant growth regulators and their effects are as follows:
1)Growth regulators, mainly used to promote crop growth, commonly include 2,4-D, naphthylacetic acid (NAA), indole-3-acetic acid (IBA), etc
.
2)Cytokinin can promote the division of crop cells and accelerate fruit enlargement. Common examples include 6-benzyladenine (6-BA).
3)Gibberellin can inhibit the decomposition of plant chlorophyll, stimulate the growth of plant leaves and shoots, and increase yield. Commonly used examples include 920 (GA3).
4)Growth retardants, such as paclobutrazol (PP333) and dwarfing hormone (CCC), can slow down plant growth and shorten internodes.
5) Ethylene, which can release ethylene and accelerate fruit ripening, is commonly used to ripen immature fruits.
