The following five situations require foliar fertilization
1. When the root system of the plant ages and its absorption capacity weakens, foliar fertilizer should be applied.
In the late stage of annual crop growth, root vitality declines and fertilizer absorption capacity decreases. If you want to apply fertilizer to crops, the root application method cannot meet the needs of the crops. In this case, foliar spraying fertilizer is suitable.

2. When crops suffer from nutrient deficiency, foliar fertilizer must be applied.
During the growth process of crops, when they have shown certain nutrient deficiencies, if soil fertilization is used, it takes a certain amount of time for nutrients to be absorbed by the crops, which cannot alleviate the symptoms of nutrient deficiency in a timely manner. If foliar fertilization is used at this time, the advantage of fast absorption of foliar fertilizer can be fully utilized, allowing nutrients to quickly enter the plant through the leaves and solve the problem of nutrient deficiency. For example, when vegetables are deficient in certain trace elements and their plants become short and their leaves turn yellow or green, foliar fertilizer can be sprayed to supplement these trace elements. This can alleviate these nutrient deficiency symptoms in a timely manner, which is more effective and efficient than soil fertilization.
3. When crop growth is affected by adverse environmental factors, foliar fertilizer must be applied.
When the soil environment is unfavorable for crop growth, such as excessive water or drought, or when the soil is too acidic or alkaline, it can cause the absorption of nutrients by crop roots to be hindered, and crops need to quickly recover their growth. At this time, foliar fertilization is needed to quickly supplement nutrients and meet the needs of crop growth and development.

4. Quickly replenish trace elements and try to use foliar fertilizers.
Some fertilizers such as phosphorus, iron, manganese, copper, zinc, etc., if applied as roots, are easily fixed by soil colloid adsorption, reducing their effectiveness. The use of foliar spraying is not limited by soil conditions, and has the advantages of using less fertilizer, quick effect, high utilization rate, safety, and no pollution.

5. When soil fertilization is difficult to operate, foliar fertilizer must be applied.
For crops covered with plastic film and plots without drip irrigation belts, it is difficult to apply soil topdressing when the amount of bottom fertilizer is insufficient. In this case, foliar spraying is needed to supplement nutrient needs.
