Here are some common and important fertilization methods:
1)spread fertilizer over the fields
Method: Spread fertilizer evenly on the surface of the soil.
Advantages: Simple operation, high efficiency, suitable for mechanized operations.
Disadvantages: Fertilizers are prone to volatilization and loss, with low utilization rates, which may promote weed growth.
Applicable: Base fertilizer or topdressing for closely planted crops and lawns, as well as large-scale fertilization.
2)
strip trenches fertilization
fertilization methods:
Method: Dig trenches between crop rows or on one side, apply fertilizer in strips, and cover with soil.
Advantages: Fertilizer concentration, close to crop roots, higher utilization rate than spreading.
Disadvantage: Compared to manual labor.
Applicable: Base fertilizer or topdressing for strip sowing crops such as wheat and corn.
3)hole fertilization
Method: Dig holes near crop plants, apply fertilizer and cover with soil.
Advantages: More concentrated fertilizer, high utilization rate, and low usage.
Disadvantage: The most labor-intensive.
Applicable: Base fertilizer or topdressing for crops with large inter plant spacing (such as trees, corn, vegetables).
4)circular application
method: Taking the crop trunk as the center, dig a circular ditch at the outer edge of the vertical projection of the tree crown, fertilize and cover with soil.
Advantages: It conforms to the law of outward expansion of fruit tree roots and has good nutrient absorption effect.
Application: Fertilization of fruit trees and garden trees.
5)Irrigation and Fertilization
Concept: Dissolve fertilizer in irrigation water and apply fertilizer and water simultaneously through irrigation systems such as drip irrigation and sprinkler irrigation. This is the core of integrated water and fertilizer technology.
Advantages: Fast fertilizer efficiency, extremely high nutrient utilization rate (up to 90% or more), water-saving, fertilizer saving, labor-saving, and precise control.
Disadvantages: High initial investment cost, high requirements for fertilizer solubility and irrigation system.
Applicable: Facility agriculture, orchards, and high standard farmland.
6)Foliar fertilization
Concept: Directly spray low concentration fertilizer solution onto crop leaves, and absorb it through leaf stomata and cuticle.
Advantages: Fast nutrient absorption, compensating for insufficient root absorption, especially effective in the late stage of crop growth when root aging or poor soil environment occurs.
Disadvantage: The fertilizer effect is short-lived and cannot meet the high nutrient requirements of crops.
Application: Supplement trace elements, quickly correct nutrient deficiencies, or assist with fertilization during critical growth periods of crops.
